Plymouth panel leaves road funding rejection in place

Finance Committee · Meeting of September 30, 2026

Plymouth finance panel leaves road funding rejection intact, OKs data center pause. Wednesday's Finance Committee meeting drew dozens of residents urging reconsideration of a $300,000 road-survey funding request for Shallow Pond Estates, which the committee had rejected 3-8 on September 9; no member moved to revisit it, so the rejection stands heading into Fall Town Meeting. Town Manager Derek Brindisi told the committee construction bids for the Visitor's Center addition came in between $685,000 and $943,000, "actually worse" than an earlier round; the panel voted 8-0 to reduce the project's town appropriation by a $200,000 grant already received.

Deputy Director of Planning Michael Silveira and Planning Board Chair Steven Bolotin won unanimous, 10-0 support for a one-year moratorium on data center development running through October 2027. Two easements at 75 Long Pond Road passed 9-1, with Christine Richards dissenting both times over missing deed documentation.
