Lakeville Conservation Commission Approves Tight Tank Near Long Pond, Issues Two Determinations

LAKEVILLE — May 26, 2026 — Lakeville Conservation Commission approved a tight tank installation near Long Pond and issued two negative determinations for wetland-adjacent projects at its May 26 meeting. The commission closed a notice of intent hearing for 15 Shore Avenue, where property owners Lydia and Frank Mark will replace an existing cesspool with a 2,500-gallon, 32,000-pound monolithic concrete tight tank — the only viable option given that the parcel across the street is entirely wetland — subject to a Board of Health-imposed deed restriction limiting the property to one bedroom. Engineer Rick Sharon of Shower Associates won a negative three determination for a cottage demolition and 1,100-square-foot replacement residence at 16 Bliss Road on behalf of owners Nathan and Kevin Ferreira, with conditions requiring a gravel driveway and agent-inspected siltation controls. Contractor George Padranki received a similar determination for an in-place deck replacement at 26 Central Avenue, also with hand-only work and siltation barrier requirements. The commission directed 15 Beach Street applicant Paul Chicoine to file a formal notice of intent — backed by a licensed engineer's plan incorporating Steve Schmiel's March 2026 wetland flags — after concluding his RDA submission described work too extensive for a simple determination, and voted to credit his RDA fee toward the NOI cost. The commission also voted unanimously to recommend to the Select Board a land swap on Panetary Drive trading 12 square feet of town land for 4,104 square feet from a private owner to expand the adjacent conservation parcel.
